Welcome!

Eastern gates of Adelaide Oval and the Russell Ebert Statue

Welcome to ‘Our Adelaide Oval’, a blog a where the many fans of Adelaide Oval can come together to celebrate and discover more about this truly amazing venue! Since 1871, the Adelaide Oval has hosted an almost countless number of events, from scream out loud concerts to heart pounding sporting matches. Each event has not only added to the history, but also it’s cultural significance in the city of Adelaide, for that reason I believe that is truly one of the crown jewels of Adelaide.

But enough of the formalities! This blog is built for the fans! So lets get into it!

Now you are probably asking yourself a few questions about this blog so I have tried to answer the main ones!

Why should I use a random blog made by some University student, when I could simply look at the official Adelaide Oval Website myself?

I admit it is hard to argue with that, in fact I encourage you to go check the website out, it has a ton of helpful tips and shows everything that Adelaide Oval has to offer! Here is the link if you want to check it out! To answer your question though, I want fans to use and read this blog because it is written by a fan himself who wants to add to the Adelaide Oval experience!

How can this blog do that then?

Well if you are a seasoned Adelaide Oval fan that would rather go to the cricket then their best mates wedding, I can provide you news updates on the oval itself, from a fans perspective of course! Although, let me make it clear that I also want to hear from you the fans and what your opinion is on everything that is happening down at the venue! An open and sometimes frank discussion with lively debate leads to a stronger Adelaide Oval, meaning we become a better community!

I can also offer you a place where you can share your experiences from showing your happy snaps of your fav players too sharing that amazing story where your team won the game as the siren sounded. You can also post your reviews on the experiences that you have had, no matter if they were good or bad!

I will also be previewing all the events at Adelaide Oval! From match previews of the AFL, Cricket even Rugby! Don’t worry music fans I will also do my best to preview all the concerts as well and of course whatever other events the oval has to offer like Stadium Golf! (Yes I promise you this exists).

What if I am new to Adelaide Oval?

If you are new to the venue I can show you where some great parking spots are for FREE or at least well priced. Don’t wanna drive? Easy! I can tell you about the public transport services that run to the oval or even advise the best walking routes from the city itself.

I can also tell you some general tips like where to get the best snaps and where the best seats are for certain events! While Adelaide Oval workers might not like hearing this, I can even tell you about some of the great places to eat around Adelaide that are still close to Adelaide Oval and won’t break the bank!

I can even tell you about the amazing history this Oval has created and witnessed. Like how Clem Hill scored an astonishing 365 not out against New South Wales in a Sheffield Shield Game match back in 1900. Maybe you want to know that a game of American Football was played on the hallowed turf July 4th 1942 with 28,000 people watching, or even how the famous scoreboard came to life back in 1911. There is so much history to this amazing place and as a history lover myself I can’t wait to share this with you and learn more myself!

So what now?

Get reading! Or at least get down to the Adelaide Oval! There is so much to see and do so please experience as much as your heart contents both at the oval and on this blog.

Sincerely
A university student who wants to show what he loves to the world…otherwise known as Brayden Green
