My name is Brayden Green and I am the blogger behind Our Adelaide Oval.
I am a student from the University of South Australia who is currently studying a Bachelor of Journalism and Professional Writing. This is my fourth year of studying and I have also completed a Bachelor of Arts (yes I know its a degree to no where and thank you for being the one of the millions who have already said it). I decided to study journalism because I wanted to tell as many stories as I could, especially those of sport because to me it is the ultimate drama where no one knows what will happen. As well as this I like to inform people of the truth and fight for justice in the community. So lets hope this massive Hecs debt I have built is worth it this time…moving on.

I started this blog to share and celebrate everything Adelaide Oval. I believe that this amazing venue is truly the crown jewel of Adelaide, from its beautifully designed architecture, to its stunning natural features of the Moreton Bay fig trees it is something that not only all of Adelaide should be proud of, but also all of Australia.
Another reason to why I started this blog is because I wanted to share my love of sports, anything where there is competition it is extremely likely that I am there putting in my two cents worth. I do admit that my specialty is Australian Rules Football I do however try to keep up to date with everything sport especially anything that is happening in Adelaide. I think this is important as both a blogger and journalist because this way we are not only in the know, but we can also take an educated stance on all sporting topics that have been brought to our attention.
One of the biggest reasons as to why I love the Adelaide Oval so much is the memory I have as a teenager where me and my grandfather attended the first ever showdown at Adelaide Oval in round 2 of the 2014 season. (Check out the AFL Website for more info). I can remember marching down Rundle Mall to the oval with an Army of Port Adelaide fans, (Yes I am a Port Adelaide Supporter, but dont worry Crow fans I promise to be unbiased, and before you ask YES I do have all my teeth!) the beating of the drums and chants in unison was truly breathtaking. What sticks with me the most though is that when we arrived the Adelaide Crows faithful were there waiting, almost as if they were ready to drive the enemy back, but what housed these two fierce rivals? The Adelaide Oval of course, the one fan that was truly neutral, the one place where all supporters could find common ground, this was their home and no one could take it way from them. Not even the Victorians.
Where is this all going you ask? Well it is simple, my belief has always been that strong stadiums bring people together, no matter what sporting code or what concert or any event for that matter, the stadium will be there to house us all. This means by having quality stadiums there to serve us we can build stronger communities which lead to better lives for all.
